ProjectThe Sowers of Justice network strongly condemns the repeal of DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). As people of faith, we feel compelled to speak out strongly and unequivocally against the injustice of this repeal. The DACA program has allowed hundreds of thousands of children of undocumented immigrants to remain in the US while working and attending school. These young people benefit our country in immeasurable ways. They have lived most of their lives as Americans and call this country their home. We believe it would be cruel and immoral to send them from our country upending their lives and families. Repeal of DACA is a painful breach of trust that DACA immigrants placed in the US government to provide them a safe home and a place to work or study. We call on Congress and the President of the United States to restore the DACA program and continue to allow these innocent young people the opportunity to remain as contributing members of our nation.
